FORTE (Fast On-Orbit Recording of Transient Events) is a small satellite developed by the Department of Energy and Los Alamos National Labs to test nuclear arms monitoring technology. Its main role is detecting and analyzing brief radio bursts from Earth that may indicate nuclear or explosive events.
