Our Story

Tucked away in the quiet town of St. Joseph, Minnesota, Obbink Distilling is working on a classified mission to launch its space-aged spirits into orbit. Inside the Testing Facility is where you’ll find the whiskey pioneer and former Mechanical Satellite Engineer for the Earth and Space Sciences Division, Gregg Obbink, testing his latest batch. With years of extensive satellite testing experience, working with NASA, and even sending the Curiosity Rover to Mars, Obbink is no stranger to pushing the boundaries and reimagining what’s possible.

After retiring in 2008, he brought his passion for science and spirits together to reimagine the way whiskey has been made for thousands of years. And he didn’t waste any time tinkering and experimenting with accelerating time itself — leading him to develop his proprietary method for speeding up the aging process from years to just days. The end result? Space-aged spirits fueled by curiosity for down-to-earth people with a rich taste that’s years beyond its age.
